Project

The new building of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers is an award-winning design inspired by the story of the revival of Mesopotamia, the result of an architectural competition held in Baghdad with the participation of more than 30 international architects.

The project site is located in the Green Zone in Baghdad, Republic of Iraq and will be the new Headquarters of the Government of Iraq. The estimated total construction area for the project is about 178,000 square meters. The project consists of three main sections in a podium consisting of four floors with a security building and 2 towers with 12 floors above the podium. These sections are; The Prime Minister's Office, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers’ multi-purpose hall, the VIP Zone consisting of meeting halls for the press, ceremonial halls and executive offices, the reception, security, meeting areas, committee offices and other supporting sections, as well as auxiliary buildings for the provision of all project services, the technical service building, the parking lot building with a capacity of 670 vehicles and the nursery buildings.
